Collectors Limited Edition Climber Damascus Steel
Damascus steel goes back more than a thousand years.
Even in antiquity, a few resourceful sword-smiths knew how to create blades of unusual toughness and hardness from different kinds of steel.
A great deal of skill and dedication was required for the multiple folding and forge welding of the material.
Then as now, the crowning highlight in the production of a Damascus blade was the finish.
With careful grinding, polishing and etching the unique and characteristic patterns are reveled, thereby providing a glimpse into the soul of the steel.
The special powder-metallurgical process used to manufacture this metal produces a stunning patterned blade that is also stainless. No two blades made using this technique have exactly the same pattern, making each knife a unique creation.
The microstructure of this high-grade Damascus is extremely fine-grained and the steel elements have a very even distribution. As a result, the stable blade can be hardened to up to 60 degrees Rockwell while remaining extremely ductile and strong. What's more, the exceptional beauty of the blade is matched by outstanding edge retention and resilience.
(The blade of this knife is manufactured from stainless high quality Damascus steel, 60 HRc)
The black handles made from ebony wood and inlaid Victorinox shield are the perfect complement to the intricately patterned Damascus blade.
The elegant presentation box in which this stunning piece is supplied makes the Climber Damascus a sophisticated gift or showpiece.
Limited to a production run of 4000 worldwide, one thing is clear: This knife is set to become a classic.
